Me too!
Like Quigs, I also toured the U-Boat at the museum in Chicago, when I lived there as a kid of 8. It was indeed cramped!

Besides enjoying this series very much, I took a tour of U Boat in the Chicago's Science and Indusrty. I could not believe how cramped it was in there.

The capture of the U-505
This episode covers the Atlantic war from 1943 to 1945, with the Allies moving to counter the dominance of the German U boat fleet.
It's the end of the "happy time" for the U boats.
Naval air bases are installed in Burmuda and the Azores, blanketing much of the Atlantic with air cover.
The black hole in the middle of the ocean is sealed with a new type of convoy escort -- the "baby flattops" or "jeep" carrier.
One of these carriers, the USS Guadalcanal, captured the German sub U-505, which yielded many secrets, including the vaunted Enigma code.
The boat is on display at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
This is a very musical episode, with a bit less narration and longer stretches of Robert Russell Bennett's score accompanying planes flying over the ocean.
